Dewey Defeats Truman (and Other Fun Headlines)

MICHIGAN CITY, Indiana, January 31, 2020.

On January 22, 2020 the Michigan City News Dispatch published an article in their online publication which announced Dion Bergeron’s candidacy for Indiana’s First Congressional District and we truly appreciate it. The title of the piece was titled “Michigan City Attorney Joins Congressional Race.”

All of the facts in the article were well represented, however the title was completely inaccurate. Mr. Bergeron, while respecting the legal profession, is not now, nor has ever been an attorney. It was not a career path he ever considered and after multiple reviews of the press release the Bergeron campaign sent to all local and many state media outlets, we have not discovered anything that would misrepresent or allude to the Michigan City News Dispatch making such an error.

In the print version of the Michigan City News Dispatch, the article was titled with a title that was not misleading. Dion and the campaign committee want to make sure the record is straight and we do not want to mislead or potentially mislead any voters into thinking Dion Bergeron is an attorney. To the best of our knowledge, no other media outlet has made such a mistake. If there was something in our announcement that may have mislead the public into thinking he was an attorney, we apologize. The initial press release is available on DionBergeron.com and we invite anyone who wishes to look over the press release to do so.

The original piece, titled “Dion Bergeron Announces Candidacy for Indiana Congressional First District” on DionBergeron.com can be found at https://dionbergeron.com/dion-bergeron-announces-candidacy-for-indiana-congressional-first-district.

We hope this clears up any and all confusion.
