Gun Control
Gun control is a hot topic, and seems to get brought up over and over, with emotion usually driving whatever argument is made for stricter laws that only affect law-abiding Americans. We know that Chicago has some of the most severe gun legislation in the country (though not the strictest), yet we constantly hear about the ever-increasing number of victims. If we could legislate guns out of our cities, then Chicago would be one of the safest cities in America.
Unfortunately, we know all too well that more laws aren’t the answer. We have plenty of laws already. The exact number is disputed, but there are at least 200 laws regarding firearms already on the books, and some claim the number to be significantly higher. There is already a federal background check on every firearm purchase from a licensed dealer, but we know criminals don’t care about laws.
So what’s the real story behind gun control? You may be surprised.
- Gun Control has a long history of Racism
- The figures touted by those in favor of Gun Control are often skewed and misrepresented
- When only the government is armed, the people have no defense against it
- Instead of learning facts, Gun Control advocates use incorrect and misleading terms, and are wholly unfamiliar with the reality of weapons
