DDD Presents: Local Legends: Bobby & Ryli Greer Dion sits down with Bobby and Ryli Greer, a father and daughter Powerlifting team. Bobby is well known in La Porte County. He's a former La Porte County Sheriff's Deputy and was a K9 Officer for a number of years, moving on to other things in order to spend more time with his family. A perfect example of this is his unconventional father-daughter team dynamic. Bobby Greer has a well-established history in the Powerlifting scene, taking home the Gold medal time after time. In 2017, he scored a Gold and a Silver medal at the Northern Indiana Bench and Deadlift Championships and the 2017 Benchpress Nationals, respectively, and a silver medal at the World Police and Fire Games In 2018 he earned Gold Medals in the 2018 Kentucky Open and the 13th NAPF (North American Powerlifting Federation) North American Regional Bench Press Championships In 2019 he scored a Gold Medal in the RPG BarBellum 2020 Gold medal in the Stars and Stripes Open 2021 a Gold and a Bronze in the same competition: Raw Bench Nationals In 2023, a Gold Medal at Powerlifting America Boo Bash in Aurora, IL 2024 Silver Medal at the Bench Press Nationals He's been a member of two different leagues/competition rule sets, both of which are Drug Free and tested as such! All natural raw strength (and a heck of a lot of training). Both Bobby and Ryli are now members of Powerlifting America. Powerlifting America is the recognized United States member federation affiliate to the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF). They routinely test for any PED (Performance Enhancing Drug) and is heavily regulated and controlled. The official policy from their website is: Powerlifting America is unequivocally opposed, on ethical and medical grounds, to the practice of doping in sport and fully supports the position of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) against the use of banned substances and methods. The wins mean a lot here, just as in the previous organization (the USAPL). Now his daughter, Ryli Greer, is following in her father's (deep) footsteps, already earning a Gold and Silver finish in her first two competitions! She's prepping for her third competition coming up on May 24th, the IPF World Bench Press, which we're sure she's going to dominate. Before we know it, she'll have a trophy case to rival her dad's. Affectionately referred to as Shrek and Baby Shrek, Bobby and Ryli Greer are an inspiration for all of us, and we're going to have the opportunity to sit and chat with them before their upcoming IPF Bench Worlds Championship, going on from May 21st to June 1st, 2024 in Austin, TX. Ryli competes on May 24th. Bobby's chance to add to his huge trophy case will be on May 27th, 3 days after Ryli's. Aren't these two awesome? We're really excited here at #DDD to chat with these two and find out the scoop behind this unique father/daughter endeavor.
